budget, skating

So, I've decided to do a budget thing. We'll see how it works. I'm going to TRY and save some. Fat chance, I know. Especially because I just bought $51 worth of skate stuff yesterday -- just wheels and bearings. But, I now have $40 left for 2 weeks. We'll see how this works. I'll just really have to cut down on travel and wasteful spending. I have the bills all paid off (for a grand total of $83 for everything! all caught up!). My parents took care of my cell bill (yay!). So, there you have it. My-trying-to-take-hold-of-my-financial-state.

We went skating this morning at 8 a.m.! Isn't that insane? I didn't know things happened before noon. We skated until 10 then headed back here because Chris has to work at 11. The new wheels and bearings make all the difference in the world. And we're getting better at ollieing (how do you spell that? ollying? ollieing? or do you just say, 'doing an ollie'?).

I work from 3 until close, then I'm heading over to see Steph tonight.

I'm getting used to constantly having cuts and scrapes all over my body from skating. It's kind of odd though.

i love my laptop

It's no G5, but it's sweet that I'm able to bring my whole machine with me to wherever I want. Right now I'm using it at school. It's great because what used to be down-time is now time where I can cram in some more of my favorite things to do, like surfing the web, working on my web page, blogging, posting to the MacAddict forums, and playing video games.

Still, it'd be nice to have a G5...

as a side note: part of me loves this -- the whole computing thing -- while another part of me wants to get away from it more, and do REAL stuff more. Maybe a moderation of each is better than an extreme turn either which way.

skateboarding volume 2

Went out skating again with Chris on Wed. This time to Verona, and then later on to Oregon. Verona has a nicer park than Oregon. Lots of fun -- especially when there aren't a whole lot of other people there.

About to take a shower and head off to class. Gah it's early. Cold outside too. Hopefully it'll warm up a bit.

Gotta hurry so I can eat some cereal before I go... More later. Maybe. I've been working on my web page.

skateboarding volume 1

So, we were bored today and decided to try our hand at skateboarding. Hell, the Tony Hawk games make it look insanely easy. The Tony Hawk games are dirty liars.

Chris bought me a skateboard (which I'll be paying back) and Josh got one as well. Wal-mart specials, the lot of them. $10 a piece.

We customize our boards and head off to Oregon to the skate park. We talk to some people, and pose as a student film crew from MATC doing a project for a class. We talk to some people and then try to learn to do cool stuff. Me and Chris biff it pretty bad. My arm is all scraped up now and my ass hurts. We have some good video I'll have to post if I can. And, I'll have to put up a pic of my board(s). (I brought mine from home back when I came back from karate)

Must find a skating place in Madison that doesn't suck. (Not that Oregon's sucks -- it's just full and far away)
