6:45 is too early

to wake up. i came home half-asleep and sat online for a wee bit. at about 7:15ish or maybe it was closer to 7:30 schober stopped over to pick up his cards. i showered and went to karate. it was just me and sensei. we went over all the katas I know. i need to work on them to get ready for black belt testing.

my sensei isn't sure what's going to happen with the dojo. I really hope it sticks around. I've invested 7 years of my life going there and I don't want to see it disappear out from under me when I'm so close to black belt. I don't want to see it go, period. Even AFTER I'm done getting my black belt. He's going to see how things go in the next week or so and then he'll let me know what's going to happen with the dojo.

*crosses fingers*

I guess we'll see.

great googly moogly

i don't want to work today. gah.

I've been busy today! Woke up and stayed up at about 9ish. Showered. Discovered that my money had been direct-deposited to my OLD bank account that is now closed, so had to go to my bank to get that taken care of. Found out that KC had finally paid me my $50 and that my dad had deposited it in my account. Went out and ate with my dad and my grandpa at Pizza Hut. Met Smoe there and went to the mall and hung out for a while. Came back here and am now loafing until 4 when I have to be at work. Blech.

I don't want to go to work. damnit.

I hate you Target!!!

herodotus rocks my world baby!

he's so cool! i'm currently reading The Histories of Herodotus. He writes about all kinds of stuff. Mostly about the wars between the Lydians and the Persians so far (I'm only about 95 pages into it). But he tells about all this crazy shit that's true. Like how this king finds out that his servant has betrayed him and so cooks the servant's son up and serves him to the servant and then reveals the son's head and hands and feet under silver platters and lets the servant know he just ate his own son. Isn't that crazy?

kinda drunk. adios.

50 years of color television

Color televisions went on sale March 25, 1954 for $1000 (the modern-day equiv. of $4000). Yipes!

new favorite band?

maybe not. I'm exploring them right now. Incubus. I've heard them before, and liked some of their songs, but never really listened to anything but their pop stuff that's been on the radio.

I need to listen to more music. Non-pop stuff. I've found some really cool bands I like (some of them before they were big) like Dropkick Murphys (who still aren't huge, but are growing).

It's so nice out today. Spring is here. About fuckin' time too. I have the balcony door open and I'm not freezing! Yay for me!

mario bros

we got out mario bros the other night (both original and 3 -- I don't like 2) and played around. I like mario 3, but it's so long if you do every level. So, I end up skipping to the end, and then getting my ass kicked badly on World 8. Urg. So, then we put in Mario Bros.
The original one is nice, even though it has crappy graphics, because it's so simplistic. There's the Mushroom, and the Flower. None of this other crap. I can get to World 8, Level 3, but that's where I always die. I remember that as a kid I could only get to World 8, level 1 or 2 MAYBE.

anyways, it was a pleasant bit of nostalgia. now we're back to Mario 3 world 8, but almost finished, thank god.

ad lib guy's night

so tonight was kinda like guy's night. our normal guy's night won't work any more because I have to go to karate. i got off work at 10:15 or so. work sucked so horribly bad tonight. I want to quit and find a good job. Anyhow, so we go shopping for groceries, come back, eat some food, and me and chris play magic while schober watched. then, schober and I played a couple hands before I called it quits.

I completed most of the college app. There's still a part that I need to do that seems to be an essay or something, but it doesn't say what it's suppost to be about. It's supposed to be a statement of sorts. *shrug*

I'm still on my Indiana Jones kick. Tomorrow after Steph goes to work I'll watch one of them again. I watched my least favorite, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, tonight and while I still don't like it much, it's a lot better than what I remembered.
